This explains what we collect when you use our sites and games, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can tell us to do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
This policy is issued by Sassy Sounds Touring Inc (“6arelyhuman”, “we”, “us”), whose registered address is 2217 Campus Drive, El Segundo, CA 90245.
For data protection purposes we are the controller of the information described here.
Contact us about anything in this policy at harry@r-m.art, or by post at the address above.
It covers the websites, games, and interactive experiences we operate, including:
It does not cover other companies’ services we link out to — Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and the like. Once you follow one of those links you are on their turf and their privacy policy applies.
| What | When | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Joining the list; enlisting in SLAYBOT; signing up in THE SCENE | Optional — you can use the sites without it |
| Phone number | The same forms, if you opt in to texts | Always optional, and never required |
| Your name or handle, and your SLAYBOT’s name | Signup and character creation | Use whatever you like; it does not have to be your legal name |
| City | Some signup forms (so we know where to play) | Optional |
| Guestbook posts | Posting on the MySpace wall in THE SCENE | Public. See section 8 |
| Three-letter initials and your score | Submitting to the SCENE GAME charts | Public on the leaderboard |
| Age band | Before any signup form | We ask your birth year and keep only the resulting band — never the date itself |
If you are in the UK, EU, or another region with equivalent law, these are our lawful bases under the GDPR:
| Purpose | Information | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Sending you marketing emails and texts about releases, drops, and shows | Email, phone, name | Consent — you tick a box, and you can withdraw at any time |
| Running the sites and games; saving your progress; showing leaderboards and the guestbook | Local storage, initials, scores, posts | Legitimate interests — operating the service you asked for |
| Fulfilling merch orders and handling returns | Order and delivery details, held by Shopify | Contract |
| Keeping the sites secure, preventing spam and abuse, moderating the guestbook | Logs, IP, post content | Legitimate interests — protecting the service and our community |
| Understanding how the sites are used | Analytics data | Consent — and it is off unless you turn it on |
| Meeting our legal obligations | Whatever the law requires | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether our interest is overridden by your rights, and concluded it is not. You can challenge that — see section 11.
We only send marketing to people who asked for it. Consent is collected with a separate, un‑pre‑ticked box, it is never a condition of playing a game or buying anything, and agreeing to one channel does not sign you up to the other.
Withdrawing consent does not undo messages we already sent, and we will still contact you about something you specifically asked for, such as an order you placed.
Our sites are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If you believe a child has given us personal information, email harry@r-m.art and we will delete it promptly. Parents and guardians can exercise any of the rights in section 11 on a child’s behalf.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross‑context behavioural advertising. We use a small number of service providers, who may only use what we give them to provide their service to us:
| Provider | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Fly.io | Website and game hosting; server logs | United States |
| Supabase | Database for signups, leaderboards, and guestbook posts | United States |
| Laylo | Sending marketing emails and texts | United States |
| Shopify | Merch storefront, checkout, and payment processing | United States / Canada |
| Google Analytics | Site analytics — not currently enabled, and consent‑gated if it ever is | United States |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or ourselves. If our business is ever sold or reorganised, information may transfer as part of that — you would be told first.
The guestbook in THE SCENE and the SCENE GAME charts are public. The name or initials you choose and whatever you write can be read by anyone, indexed by search engines, and copied by people we do not control. Please do not post your address, phone number, school, or anything else you would not want a stranger to have.
You can ask us to remove something you posted — see section 11. Rules for what belongs on the wall, and how to report a post, are in our Community Guidelines.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do store small amounts of data on your own device, using local storage, so the sites work:
| Purpose | Category | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|
| Your game save, best scores, and your SLAYBOT | Strictly necessary | No |
| Your shopping bag | Strictly necessary | No |
| Remembering a notice you dismissed, and your age band | Strictly necessary | No |
| Counting new versus returning visitors | Analytics | Yes — off by default |
You can clear all of it any time through your browser settings. Clearing it will erase your game progress and your SLAYBOT, because those live on your device rather than on our servers.
Wherever you are, you can email harry@r-m.art and ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. We will not charge you, we will not treat you differently for asking, and we will respond within one month (or 45 days for requests under US state law), telling you if we need longer.
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
If you are in the UK or EEA and want to exercise any of these rights, or you think we should have appointed a representative under Article 27 GDPR, write to us at harry@r-m.art and we will deal with your request directly.
You have the right to know what we collect and why, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross‑context behavioural advertising, including of anyone under 16, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the request line above is open regardless. You may use an authorised agent, and you have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of this.
We send commercial messages only with your express consent, identify ourselves in every message, and include a working unsubscribe mechanism, as CASL requires.
We are based in the United States and our providers are largely in the United States, so if you are outside the US your information will be transferred there. Where we move information out of the UK or EEA we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) in our agreements with those providers, together with the EU‑US and UK‑US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified.
Everything is served over HTTPS. Our database enforces row‑level security so that the mailing list is insert‑only from the public web and cannot be read back by visitors, and leaderboard entries cannot be edited once submitted. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously and we will tell you and the relevant regulator if something goes wrong in a way that puts you at risk.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. For anything significant we will say so on the site, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent again rather than assume it.
